Shop Floor Control: Repetitive
Shop Floor Control systems must facilitate manufacturing - not ‘get in the way’. Vanguard’s Shop Floor Control: Repetitive (SFC:R) application makes it easy to create, view and change shop schedules (even long-running operations), to report production activity, and provides the information required to manage the people and processes of manufacturing.
SFC:R creates schedules automatically, based on released MRP recommendations, or manually. Even the manual process is easy - tell the system to schedule a certain quantity of an end item, provide a start (or end) date and scheduling method (forward, backward, or variants) - and all routing operations and setups are scheduled. Production reporting can utilize data collection systems, RF bar-code systems, or online entry.
All of the critical production data you need is easily recorded, including good production, scrap (with reason codes), rework (with ticket number), labor (employee or team reporting with optional time card feed to Payroll) time and costs, machine time, setup time (and labor), and component usage (backflush or actual).
Key benefits of Repetitive Shop Floor Control
- Improved scheduling capability - on-line schedules are updated with production - accurate view of remaining production
- On-line or data collection production reporting
- Downtime reporting and machine utilization
- Efficiency reporting and performance versus the shop schedule
- Capture actual material & labor & scrap - complete history of production - ability to
calculate average actual manufacturing costs
Key features of Repetitive Shop Floor Control
- Forward or backward scheduling - include or remove setup time, queue time, move time; and overlap operations with minimum move quantity
- Automatic scheduling from MRP recommendations
- Manual scheduling and schedule changes - schedules by date/shift/time
- Overlapping operations with minimum move quantities
- Picklist with pick schedule for raw material and components JIT delivery to manufacturing operations
- Report production at pay-points only - backflush through prior operations
- WIP visibility by routing pay-point
- No work-orders required - schedule and report production by item and pay-point
- Production activity reporting by employee or team
- Production reporting for labor and material concurrently - or separate reporting
- Scrap reporting by operation - with scrap reason codes
- Rework reporting by rework ticket
- Machine time and setup time reporting
- Analyses of production efficiency, labor efficiency and scrap
- Downtime and machine utilization reporting
- Track material or component substitutions
- Cumulative production by item is tracked by routing operations
- Average production rates
- Report against alternate routings
- Report production by tool and cycle
